Moisture and Oil-Essential for Healthy Hair

Growing up in the 1960s, other than regularly washing our hair, moisture was something many of us with textured hair avoided like the plague. After spending hours in a salon getting a "press and curl" the last thing we wanted was to get stuck in the rain or to work up a sweat exercising. Thankfully, today we celebrate the universal beauty of our hair, in all of its textures. We also know that moisture is what keeps our hair healthy and vibrant. We understood oil, but what we didn't know back then was that some oils are much better than others for our hair, and that oil and water work perfectly together to keep hair soft and shiny. Coconut, Avocado and Olive oil are indispensable when it comes to achieving optimum hair health. Try to avoid products containing low grade oils like petrolatum, mineral oil and soybean oil. These oils are just a temporary fix. They sit on the surface of your hair and do absolutely nothing for its health.
